Book Blogger Directory

A shout out to Book Blogger Directory for putting together a list of book bloggers in one easy to use location.

Indie publishing is such a big world to navigate. One most important resources is book bloggers. Are you looking for a blogger to review your book and don't know where to look? Here is a master list of book bloggers that review YA material provided by the Book Blogger Directory. You can find the list is here and here.

Another place to find book bloggers is Twitter. Once you start following book bloggers Twitter will start recommending others. It's also a great place to find book reviews and get the scoop on the "must read" books.

Thank you to the Book Blogger Directory for putting the list together!

Upcoming Releases

Several kind readers have contacted me to find out when the follow-up to Ascent will be out. I plan on releasing two books in the upcoming months.

My next planned release is Ruin (The Toll Witch, Book One). I'm currently editing this book. I had hoped to have it out around Christmas but I'm re-writing portions of it so it's looking more like January. Once I send it off to the editor we'll do a cover reveal on the blog.

The follow-up to Ascent will be released after Ruin. I'm guessing it will be out in March and as I get closer to completion I'll update here. The book is pretty far along and the plot is taking exciting turns. I hope you like it.

I have two other completed books that at some point I'll release. One is a book I don't think will do well, but, who knows? I have no idea, really. The other is an adult book, a Bridget Jones meets the boardroom type book. I have to stagger these as it gets rather expensive paying for the editing and cover art.

Don't think I'm a fast writer. I've been writing for a LONG time. My first two books won't see the light of day. Nobody wants to read those poor books.

Hope you all are enjoying the holidays.

NaNoWriMo Anyone?

November is National Novel Writing Month. Or, the novelist's month of torture. Each November aspiring writers everywhere band together to write 50,000 words in the month of November. This is my fourth year participating. I've never "won" NaNo before, the closest I've ever gotten is 35,000 words.

If you're a writer feel free to friend me. I'm amyandnick.

Wish me luck!

New Release!

ASCENT follows three teens who return to the past so they can save the future. The novel is the first in a series.

After years of recession a new political party is ascending to power. To control the United States they must offer leaders people will vote for. The Party has chosen a select group of teens to attend the Institute for Youth Development (IYD) for training to become the nation’s next leaders. But no one has a perfect past and in a world where every moment is captured on film it has become increasingly difficult to find future politicians. Everyone has something from their past they wish they could change.

Matt wants to go back and change the night he drove drunk and ended the life of his girlfriend and best friend; Farrah-Kate, the daughter of America’s most tragic actress, wants to save her movie star mother; and Rick is ordered to go back and change the night he hacked the governments computers.

Marvin Winn, a casino billionaire and Party founder has funded a device that will take the chosen back in time to alter their past. But not everyone is attending the Institute because they want to join The Party. And while everyone returns to their past, one person will choose not to come back, putting everything The Party seeks to achieve at risk.

I Have a Book!

GIRL OVER THE EDGE is my debut novel and is available in all e-reader formats. (At least all the ones I'm aware of!)

About the book:

It started with a bad decision and ended with an obsession.

Seventeen-year-old best friends Beckett Smith and Chloe Baker can’t shake their reputations after taking risqué photos at a college party. The pictures are distributed to the North Lake High School student body sending the best friends to the bottom rung of the social ladder right before senior year. When Beckett and Chloe return to school, they find themselves ill prepared for the harassment and bullying that follows.

Beckett has an easier time being reaccepted than Chloe. And she’ll do anything to be part of her old clique and to get a second chance at a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, star running back Kale Fenton. But Beckett’s attempts at a normal senior year are at odds with Chloe’s increasingly anti-social behavior. As Chloe’s life spirals out of control she becomes obsessed with the Aurora Bridge in Seattle, also known as Suicide Bridge, a place known for the jumpers. And after everyone’s abandoned Chloe, Beckett is the only person who can prevent Chloe from making the jump.

GIRL OVER THE EDGE is a novel about best friends, damaged relationships, and the help that sometimes comes from unexpected places.
